Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying "I will try again tomorrow."

~ I don't know who said it, or even where I first heard it, but in the past seventeen months this quote has been the mantra of every day of our lives. The amazing power of words has never been more apparent to me than when these words were the only thing that kept us from giving up. ~ Justine

Once again, welcome to my new home, and thanks for getting this far! I plan to use this space to talk about what's going on, current and future projects, and expound on anything you ask that hits a chord. And this is where you'll find the promised photographs, at least until my collection runs out. Since this site is shiny new, I'm open to any suggestions for improvement, or the addition of anything you'd like to see here. Please feel free to open up any topics you'd like to discuss on the boards, and I promise to check in there whenever possible. I'll be posting answers to the questions I'm most frequently asked, so maybe I'll hit on yours. If not, feel free to ask!

One of the first things I want to do here is thank that most important group, the readers that make the joy of writing for a living a reality for me. Some of you may know this has been a very difficult year and a half in my life, with my husband's very serious illness. Many of you have written (and probably wondered why you never received an answer), and I want you to know your encouragment and caring has helped tremendously. I've learned anew the power of a good book to relieve fear and worry, and if I have a resolution this year, it's to try to always deliver that kind of book for my readers.

But you're here — hopefully — to find out about those books! My most recent release was the second book in my Redstone, Incorporated series for Silhouette, ONE OF THESE NIGHTS. (During the writing I was calling this "La Femme Nikita meets the Absent Minded Professor.") This series is already getting good reader reaction, and I'm already having great fun doing it. The next Redstone book will be a crossover between lines, to Silhouette Desire. The tentative title is CATCH THE WIND, and it's as yet unscheduled; you'll find out here when it's definite. And yes, to answer my first FAQ (Frequently Asked Question - you can find others on the Ask Justine FAQ page), Draven will get his story.

This month, I'm happy to be a participant in a new anthology from Silhouette, BODY OF EVIDENCE. My story is the middle one, entitled "Behind the Badge." When I was first asked Pacific Moonriseand they told me the idea, I leapt at the chance. Following the concept of "Law & Order", it's one crime told from the points of view of three law enforcement entities; forensics, cops, and lawyers. Guess which one they asked me to do? <g> It was a lot of work coordinating our stories, but also great fun, the book has a great cover, and I got to work with two really good writers; what more could I ask?

And finally, that picture. I took this the first night in our new house in the Pacific Northwest. Moonrise here is a very special thing, as you can see!
